Simon Tormey

Simon Tormey, Prof. Dr., Professor für Politische Theorie an der Universität von Sydney. Vor seiner Berufung nach Sydney war er Professor und Direktor der School of Politics and International Relations und Gründungsdirektor des Centre for the Study of Social and Global Justice an der Universität von Nottingham in Großbritannien.

Simon Tormey studierte an der University of Wales, Swansea; Promotion 1991. Bevor er an die University of Nottingham wechselte war er Research Scholar and Lecturer an der University of Leicester.

Er forscht zu Demokratie, Repräsentation und Populismus und ist Autor vieler Bücher und Aufsätze u.a. The Refiguring of Democracy, London 2017; Key Thinkers from Critical Theory to Post-Marxism, London 2006; Anti-Capitalism, Oxford 2004 (überarb. Neuausg. 2013).
